Raising Funds for Alzheimer’s & Celebrating Assisted Living

Raising Funds for Alzheimer’s

As senior care providers, the fight against Alzheimer’s disease is a cause that Renaissance Villages is passionate about when it comes to seniors. Each year, our communities work hard in raising funds for Alzheimer’s and awareness surrounding the disease.

This year, Renaissance Village Rancho Belago set out to raise $2,500 for the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and the community is close to reaching its goal. The team created a plethora of fundraising opportunities despite the challenges of COVID-19. The community’s latest fundraising opportunity was Super Juiced to End Alzheimer’s, in which the community sold healthy smoothies and baked goods after they walked around the community. The Inland Empire’s Walk is just two weeks away, and the community looks like it will hit its goal.

Celebrating National Assisted Living Week

National Assisted Living Week happens each September as a time to celebrate all aspects of assisted living. This year’s theme focused on “Compassion, Community, and Caring.” Our community received appreciation from residents, staff, management, families, and outside vendors throughout the week. In addition, these outside vendors provided breakfast, lunch, goody bags, and other treats for staff. It was an excellent team-building opportunity for the entire Renaissance Village family. Thank you to Advantage Health Systems, Bristol Hospice Inland Empire, Aveeva Hospice, Kindred Hospice, Mission Hospice, and Healthy Living Pharmacy for their generosity during NALW.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day at Renaissance Village Murrieta

raising funds for alzheimer's

Renaissance Villages is home to many veterans, and we appreciate and honor the sacrifice these brave men and women made. As such, the communities give back and recognize our veterans as much as they can. The third Friday of every September is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. This day honors individuals who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. As a result, Laurel, Activities Director, and Bobby, Resident Ambassador, put together a ceremony to recognize the day. In addition, the ceremony included a reading of President Joe Biden’s

proclamation to acknowledge the day and the meaning behind the Missing Man Table that they set up in honor of the day.

The 2021 Walk To End Alzheimer’s

We have a big heart for seniors and families facing the fight against Alzheimer’s. It is a fight that Renaissance Villages hopes no one ever feels like they have to go through alone. The Alzheimer’s Association is an excellent resource for those seniors and families, and Renaissance Villages partners with them each year to advocate for change and to make a difference in the cause. Renaissance Village Murrieta is on the move and creating fundraising opportunities for its community. Its latest fundraising opportunity included a Win A Date Auction where residents bid on their favorite guy from the selection of Executive Director, Brian, and Orthopaedic & Neurological Rehabilitation, Inc. (ONR)‘s Trevor, Britt, and Nathan. Residents with the highest bid have the option of having a lunch or dinner date at the community with one of these lucky guys. Furthermore, the proceeds from the event went directly back to the community’s efforts for the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Compassion, Community, & Caring

Renaissance Village Murrieta also celebrated National Assisted Living Week and emphasized “Compassion, Community, and Caring.” This week also reminds us of the importance of Renaissance Villages’ role in providing care for their residents and serving the community. Lastly, thank you to Vitas Healthcare, Orthopaedic & Neurological Rehabilitation, Inc (ONR), Advantage Healthy Systems, and West Coast Hospice and Palliative Care for their generosity during NALW.
